Similar to the analysis of new COVID-19 cases in New York, California, Florida and Texas the following chart shows new deaths for the four most populated states in the United States. Since these states account for about a third of the total population of the country, following the trends in these states is material for the outbreak as a whole. To adjust the reported number of new deaths for differences in population, the chart below is presented per million residents.
